Cibola National Forest covers more than 1.9 million acres of western and southern New Mexico. The Magdalena Ranger District Office has maps and additional information.
Please note: The Magdalena Ranger District went into EXTREME (Stage III) fire conditions on Monday, June 20, 2011.
Stage III fire restrictions include:
- Going into or being upon the restricted area. 36 CFR 261.52(e)
- Persons with a Forest Service permit specifically authorizing the prohibited act or omission.
- Any Federal, State or Local Officer, or member of an organized firefighting force in the performance of an official duty.
- Residents in the area accessing private property via a closed Forest Service road.
- Persons occupied in a business, trade or occupation in the area as specifically authorized.
- Persons visiting recreations sites, trails, roads, and areas described as open below.
