DESCRIPTION:Flambeaux\n\nTraditional New Orleans Jazz is on the menu to spi
 ce up your event as well as the Second Line funky sounds that will make y
 ou move your bones.\n\nThe third concert of the Presidential Chamber Music
  and World Series\, offered as a Free - Pay As You Wish concert to the cen
 tral NM community.\n\nFlambeaux serves up a gumbo of traditional jazz spic
 ed with spirited ensemble improvisations springing from vintage American t
 unes of the 1910s\, 20s\, and 30s. This surprisingly fresh and swinging ac
 oustic quartet (soprano sax\, trombone\, banjo and tuba\, plus vocals) is 
 made up of four of Albuquerque’s most talented and beloved instrumentali
 sts. John Truitt (sax) is a distinguished composer\, teacher\, clinician\,
  flamenco guitarist and woodwind specialist who\, in addition to many othe
 r awards\, recently received the John Donald Robb Musical Trust 2023 Robb 
 Award for Excellence. The electrifying Micah Hood (trombone) is an award-w
 inning composer/arranger and UNM teacher (where he received his Masters of
  Music degree)\, whose playing sparks many New Mexico bands including the 
 popular Baracutanga. Wayne Shrubsall is a nationally-known scholar and per
 former of the banjo who is fluent in all styles of bluegrass\, clawhammer\
 , traditional jazz and dance music. Mark Weaver’s agile tuba has underp
 inned many local and touring bands of all types (including teaming with Wa
